What kind of computer and Internet access do I need?
The Southern Baptist Academyonline school has been designed to work well with a wide range of computers. The minimum requirements are: a Pentium III processor, 64K RAM, 6 gig hard drive, CD-ROM drive, and a 56K modem or faster connection with Windows 98 and above.
Will your program work with a Macintosh?
Some of our students homeschool with Macs successfully, but we do not guarantee Mac compatibility.
If I enroll more than one child, do they each need their own computer?
Homeschooling students can easily use the same computer as long as they log in and out properly. It’s easier for elementary school homeschoolers to share a computer than it is for high school homeschoolers.
How can I read PDF (Acrobat) files?
You need the free
Acrobat Reader.
Can I print out the lessons for review while off the Internet?
If using a computer for our computers strains your homeschooler’s eyes, you can feel free to print our lessons.
How can I check the progress of my student?
Through your “parent page”, you can access your homeschooler’s grades and records anytime during the year.
Do you need to be able to type in order to complete the work?
Many of our students actually learn to type using our online home education program. Although typing skills help, homeschoolers can use the “hunt and peck” method just fine until their skills improve.
